How Days Between Dates Are Calculated
The calculator counts every calendar day between your start and end dates. When calculating the difference, it uses the Gregorian calendar which has 365 days per year (366 in leap years). The calculation subtracts the start date from the end date and returns the total number of days. Note: if both dates are the same, the result is 0 days.
Business Days vs Calendar Days
Calendar days count every day including weekends and holidays. Business days (working days) exclude Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. If you need to calculate business days, look for a business days calculator or manually exclude weekends from the total.
